Bethan Sadler – one of our brilliant PCC and a junior doctor currently working in A&E – spoke at St Luke’s last Sunday on God and mental health, as part of our teaching series on Elijah. Ahead of the General Election, we were delighted to host a hustings for the candidates or representatives of the five main parties standing in our constituency, Holborn and St Pancras. The questions, both planned and from the audience who gathered, were largely themed around young people and issues affecting them.
As I reflect on my life so far, some of its lowest points have come due to sickness and its corresponding physical and emotional pain. Some of the highest points have come when such illnesses have been overcome, recoveries have been made, or health has been good.
Sickness, in us or those we love around us, wrecks us. Health elates us.
