Bette Davis once said, 'Old age is not for Cissies', but that's not a reason to dread it. We want everyone to look forward to getting older despite the inevitable aches and pains.
The Older People's Project or OPP's main objective is to reduce isolation and loneliness for people over 75 in Kentish Town by helping them to get out and make new friends.
We hold regular lunches, tea parties and outings to achieve this. We concentrate on on creating a fun, relaxed atmosphere where new friendships can thrive through sharing good food and new experiences. We welcome people of faith or no faith at all and the same applies to our volunteers. The OPP is at the heart of what we do as a church.
"Before I was stuck at home and didn't get out that much, but since coming to the project I have come along to the lunches and gone on the outings. I have made friends and a few of us now call each other up" - Doris, 74
